Specifically:
- Full rebuilding
The piston crown is restored to its original dimensions by complete buildup, not just machining.

i. Piston ring grooves
As a standard procedure, piston ring grooves are fully rebuilt (not just partially) and then machined to the nominal dimensions and the correct position on the piston crown diameter, according to the manufacturer’s drawings.

ii. Piston combustion surface
If the piston shows wear beyond acceptable limits, KIMI fully rebuilds the combustion area instead of just machining it.

2. Chrome plating
Our newly developed in-house chrome plating department is among the most advanced in Europe, offering one of the latest technologies that not only achieves 0.5mm net chrome layer precision on each groove side (in contrast to the industry practice of 0.30mm thickness) but also reduces reconditioning downtime by 50% for our clients.

3. Quality control
All production phases are carried out under the control of KIMI’s in-house quality control laboratory (accredited by ESYD) by PCN Level II-certified engineers. Tests, analyses and measurements conform to the ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 requirements.
