Laser Cladding
Pioneers in Laser Cladding Technology
With more than 12 years of experience, KIMI is one of maritime leaders in laser cladding technology. We provide precise reconditioning of marine and industrial components. Since 2013, our ongoing investment in high-power systems has increased our capacity to over 16 kW. This allows us to carry out fully controlled, class-approved restoration both in-house and on-site.
What is Laser Cladding?
Laser cladding is an advanced welding process which uses a high-power laser beam. This beam creates a high-integrity metallurgical bond of alloy powder onto a substrate. The result is a dense, low-dilution coating that has excellent resistance to wear, fatigue, and corrosion.
KIMI has developed laser cladding solutions for marine and industrial applications through continuous R&D and partnerships with leading research institutes. These solutions restore critical components to OEM specifications while ensuring strict dimensional control and full traceability.
Certifications from BV, LR, and DNV confirm our ability to perform high-reliability, class-approved repairs for critical components like crankshaft journal restoration. These repairs meet nominal dimensions and comply with IACS requirements.
