KIMI Expands Its Engineering Footprint

With a New 3,000 m² Marine Shaft Engineering Center

KIMI is expanding its industrial footprint with the development of a new 3,000 m² Marine Shaft Engineering Center, dedicated to the machining, restoration and manufacturing of large marine shafting components. The new facility brings together heavy-duty machining equipment, precision metrology and integrated quality control within a dedicated engineering environment. This investment strengthens KIMI’s capacity to handle demanding marine shaft projects, from initial assessment and dimensional verification to repair or complete manufacturing.

Built for Large-Scale Marine Shafting

LENGTH

The newly installed equipment is designed to accommodate components measuring up to 25 metres in length and weighing up to 60 tonnes. The center’s scope includes tail shafts, intermediate shafts, propeller shafts and other large propulsion shafting components. By combining large-scale machining with restoration, reverse engineering and dimensional verification, KIMI can assess severely damaged components and determine the most appropriate engineering solution. Depending on the condition and requirements of each project, this may involve precision restoration of the existing component or the manufacturing of a replacement.
